AVTA Reducing Maximum Occupancy On All Buses by 50% Until Further Notice

AVTA’s top priority is the health and safety of our passengers and employees.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), COVID-19 (the coronavirus) is thought to spread mainly between people who are in close contact with one another.

In order to promote healthy personal space and social distancing, AVTA has made the decision to reduce maximum occupancy on all our buses by 50% until further notice. While this may present some inconvenience, please use this as an opportunity to take the CDC’s advice and avoid close contact with others.

Food Pantry on Friday, March 27, 2020 will consist of pre-bagged items available for pick-up only outside of our office as well.

AVHP cares deeply about our community, participants, and employees, especially during this time of concern regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus. It is our top priority to follow the latest recommendations and guidelines to ensure everyone’s health and safety. We are continuously monitoring information we receive from the City of Lancaster, the City of Palmdale, the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH), and from our funders.

At this time, there will be no public access to outside vendors, participants, or clients (access is limited to staff and tenants only). All scheduled presentations, groups, events, fitness classes, and nutrition classes are cancelled as of Monday, March 16, 2020. Our staff will not be participating in any outreach events or community presentations, effective Monday, March 16, 2020. We will be conducting business via phone, email, and/or web-based programs. We understand this is not ideal, but it is essential to ensure our health and safety.
